Fish will not bark at strange sounds or howl at the moon. The aquarium filter or air pump may cause unwelcome noise if it is kept in a place such as a bedrooms.

Fish are a lot easier to manage while you holiday. Where cats and dogs require a boarding kennel, fish can be fed with an automatic feeder or slow release feeding block. You should still try and have someone stop in to check the filter, heater and the fish health periodically.

Finding a dead fish is usually less traumatic than discovering other deceased pets. Often more than one fish from a large group will fall sick or die at the same time though.

Pet fish do not require any further exercise than swimming in their adequately sized aquarium. They will need regular water changes, maintenance and cleaning however.
