Breeding Corydoras Sterbai
Sterbai catfish are one of the harder corydoras to breed but follow the same general breeding behavior
as other related fish. This makes Sterbai's cory one of the less common corydoras varieties.
Spawning will usually occur after new
water is added to the aquarium. A spray bar attachment connected to a
filter can mimic the noise of falling rain and further induce your corydoras sterbai to lay
eggs.
Corydoras Sterbai Feeding
Sinking algae based food is perfect for the corydoras sterbai to eat
along with some protein. For such nutrition these corydoras can be fed bloodworms and
spirulina
fish food. Alternately
tropical flake foods may also be accepted. In a community aquarium.
Sterbai's cory can be timid so these fish should be fed after dark if this
is the case. If fed during daylight hours a shy cory
catfish might miss feedings however you can try placing some food near
plants so
that the fish feel more secure as they feed.
Corydoras Sterbai & Friends
The video follows a community of corydoras catfish. Along with the Sterbai cory lives some
tetras. panda and peppered corydoras. These are perfect tankmate choices for the
sterbai cory. When setting up such aquariums choose a smooth gravel or sand to avoid damage to the catfish's sensitive mouth barbells.
