Fish Bowls
There is one crucial thing to remember when setting up your new gold fish bowl. Such small containers should not be filled all the way to the rim if the mouth is smaller than the widest port of the fish bowl. This is because the surface area may be inadequate for the water volume and fish life if the water does not have the optimal amount of water exposed to the atmosphere.
Round under gravel filters are recommended to remedy insufficient oxygen and promote cleaner water.
Contrary to popular belief it may not always be true that a fish bowl is less work than a fish tank. Due to the small volume of water it may need changing more frequently which also places more stress on the fish it contains.
