2 Foot Aquariums

A 2 foot aquarium is a good entry size fish tank. Buying anything smaller can lead to difficulties in maintaining the water quality compared to larger fish tanks. At this size it is possible to buy the aquarium and everything needed to set it up at a reasonable price.

Suitable Fish Choices For a 2 Foot Aquarium

There are a range of fish species suited to an aquarium that is two foot in length. Some will be able to form a community with other will require a single species home. Keep in mind that many fish in pet shops will grow much larger and require a larger aquarium once grown into adults. This may not necessarily have to limit your choices if you are prepared to buy a larger aquarium in due course. Breeders often make extensive use of 2 foot aquariums as spawning tanks and also for raising fry into fingerlings. Some suggested fish choices for your two foot aquarium are :

A bristlenose catfish and some guppies
A pair of angel fish
Some swordtails and mystery snails
A pair of convict cichlids
A school of cardinal tetras in a planted aquarium
