Vallisneria Aquarium Plant
Thin Val is a popular plant in aquariums because of it's long thin leaf blades that sway with the current. This growth usually reaches the surface in aquariums.
Vallisneria are propogated by runner producing new plants next to the mother plant. It is usually sold as a bunch plant in pet shops and these bunches are best seperated into individual plants before planting in the substrate.
Val can be grown in medium or strong light. It will grow shorter and lighter in lower light while pond grown specimens are darger green and taller. It can be kept in both coldwater and tropical temperature aquariums.
