Aquarium Plant Food
Aquarium plants have there own unique needs that differ from plants above the water surface. Aquatic plant systems have developed in a way that only permits them to absorb chelated minerals.
Fertiliser for aquarium plants differs from common plant fertiliser in it's specific formulation. Chelated minerals are required in order for the aquatic plants to be able to uptake them efficiently. The ingredients used in these specialised products can be absorbed by the leaves or roots while common plant fertilisers would be a waste of time.
Always be sure to keep within the manufacturer's guidelines. These fertilisers are generally designed to be low in phosphate but over use will have it's consequences. Excess aquatic plant fertiliser will cause blooms of undesirable algae on the plants and glass.
