Foxtail Aquarium Plant
Foxtail is a bushy stem plant with fine leaves. It is suitably named because it's stems do resemble the tails of foxes. It is dense and feathered with leaves tightly packed along the entire stem. Foxtail is excellent for use in the breeding aquarium as many fish will choose to spawn in it and tiny fry can easily hide amongst it's stems.
A number of different species can be sold under the name foxtail.Myriophyllum heterophyllum is one such aquatic plant. It can be difficult to make a positive identification of these plants which is why they were probably just called foxtail in the first place.
