Aquarium Fish Parasites
Parasites in aquarium fish can be treated with a tailored treatment. Parasites fall into one of two categories; external and internal. They are transferred to fish through the larval stages that inhabit your aquarium water. Carriers can include new fish, plants or snails.
External parasites include flukes and lice on the skin or gills. If your fish are rubbing their gills or body on rocks or gravel then you either have incorrect water or one of these parasites.
Internal parasites are mainly different worms. They live in the fish's digestive tract and leach nutrition from the animal. The fish may become gaunt for no apparent reason and shed unusual feces.
